Where: Paramount Ranch near Agoura Hills, California in the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation area

On THREE STAGES plus The Dance Barn and Children’s area, set within Western movie sets and mountain locations -- bring your instruments and “sit in” with jamming musicians!

REMINDER: No Drum Circles and NO Amplifiers or electrically amplified instruments may be brought into the contest/festival grounds!

Online Registration - For your convenience and in the interest of reducing incorrect information, we introduce the ability to register for the contest right from our website.

Flatfoot (Buck) Dancing Competition - Everyone can participate whether you play an instrument or not. See the DANCE page.

Intermediate Stage - Contestants in instrument categories who wish to compete at the Intermediate level will now play on the Intermediate Stage and the winner in each category will perform on the Main Stage.

THE MAIN STAGE:

Over 100 instrumental and singing contestants, plus performances by Hot October, Conjunto Jardin, Skillet Licorice and more!

DANCE BARN: Band Playoffs, Flatfoot Dancing Competition, a Flatfoot Dancing workshop, and Clogging, Square and Contra Dancing - with all live music by Rhythm Method String Band, Bees Knees and Panada!

PAVILION STAGE: Beginning Instrument Competitions, High Life Cajun Band and Mike Mahaney’s Cowboy Music & Poetry!

RAILROAD STAGE: Traditional Singing Playoffs, Intermediate Instrument Competition, Gypsy Blues and Ross Altman

EUCALYPTUS GROVE: Be sure to check out the new, expanded programs in the grove. Besides the normal Kid’s Program and youth-oriented music, there will be Organized Jams and Sing-alongs, all beginning at 11:00 am with:
Women on the Move Trio,The Hollow Trees, Scottish Fiddlers of L.A., a beginner’s ukulele workshop with Bob Bledsoe (adults can join too!), a backup guitar workshop for Old-Time Jams and a Slow Old-Time Jam, both led by Kelly Marie Martin !

ALSO, the ever-popular Arts & Crafts for young children!

JAM WITH YOUR FRIENDS: On Western movie sets and mountain locations - banjos, fiddles, guitars, basses, mandolins, whatever - bring your instruments and play along with other jamming musicians!

FOLK ART BOOTHS AND VENDOR WARES: Weaving, ceramics, metal craft, leather craft, jewelry, needlework, painting, instruments, straw hats - you name it!

L.A.'s National Park!

PARKS ACTIVITIES: Environmental and public service booths providing information and displays of national, state, and local parks, hiking trails, volunteer organizations, environmental groups and native plants. Come see ”L.A.’s National Park!“

Topanga's Main Stage Audience

TICKETS: Advanced tickets will be available online in early 2018. Tickets also available at the gate on the day of the event. Online (advance sale) ticket prices are deeply discounted, $17.00 for ages 18-64, $13.00 for ages 10-17 or over 65. No charge for children under 10. At the gate, $23.00 and $18.00.

FOOD: Bring your own picnic or buy from vendors on site!

PARKING: FREE parking, HANDICAPPED parking and a shuttle bus service from the parking area to the main gate!

DIRECTIONS: Take the (101) Ventura Freeway to Kanan Road off-ramp in Agoura Hills, California. Head south towards the ocean 1/4 mile to Cornell Road. Turn left on Cornell Road and continue 2 1/2 miles to the entrance of Paramount Ranch. Signs are posted along the way. See our Maps and Directions page for more information!

CAMPING: Paramount Ranch has no camping facilities, however, Malibu Creek State Park has overnight camping in Malibu Canyon. Click HERE to reserve sites or call (818) 880-0365 for more information. And, please no generators in the parking area.
